Think Yellowstone is the only SuperVolcano that could impact the entire earth if it erupted? Think again.

There is a ticking time bomb in southern Italy, in the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius, which erupted famously in 79 AD, wiping out the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. This SuperVolcano is known as Campi Flegrei.

This giant SuperVolcano – which is active in a similar way to Yellowstone – is a massive caldera right below the large metropolitan city of Naples. Signs such as rising internal temperatures point to another massive eruption in the not-too-distant future. Two intrepid adventurers go right into the heart of the caldera to find out more.

This documentary is not my own content. The name of the series is called "Secrets of the Underground" and the episode is "Doomsday Volcano Mystery", which originally aired on The Science Channel, 18 November 2017.
